  Well, it's time to put the quilt top on! We created the plum line in the batting. We simply line up the center leader with the center of the quilt. I always pin my quilt top to prevent any wiggling around. I know some people don't, but I prefer to take this extra step! Once pinned, it's ready to stitch. You will see in the video that I am using a contrasting thread but this won't matter.  Pressure is essential as you baste to take the fullness out of the quilt. You see that I am going slow.       Once you get the back loaded, it is time to get the batting on. It might not be science, but I use my "three finger" measurement technique to do this and end up with a nice line to line up the quilt top in the next step. Don't forget to put your channel locks on and basting stitch on! You can see in the video how I apply gentle pressure to prevent fullness as I baste across the quilt. It's pretty simple!
