  Well, it's time to put the quilt top on! We created the plum line in the batting. We simply line up the center leader with the center of the quilt. I always pin my quilt top to prevent any wiggling around. I know some people don't, but I prefer to take this extra step! Once pinned, it's ready to stitch. Things to Know When Loading Your Quilt Part 2

      Once you get the back loaded, it is time to get the batting on. It might not be science, but I use my "three finger" measurement technique to do this and end up with a nice line to line up the quilt top in the next step. Don't forget to put your channel locks on and basting stitch on! You can see in the video how I apply gentle pressure to prevent fullness as I baste across the quilt. It's pretty simple!

Things to Know when Loading your Quilt

Backings are funny. Sometimes when loading you don't realize there is fullness in the bakcing. Once you are finished, the fullness becomes obvious.  I have a quick and easy way to eliminate that fullness and you for sure want to correct it before you proceed! Fullness in the backing can cause a please in the back of your quilt. The greater the fullness, the larger the pleat and that can be disastrous!  All you have to do is reverse roll it to get the fullness out as you will see in the video below!
